TALKING ABOUT SUSTAINABLE THINKING
EDUCATIONAL PROJECT IN COLLABORATION WITH FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY - FLORENCE PROGRAM
The Talking about Sustainable Thinking educational project stems from the need to find innovative and stimulating solutions to ensure interaction between cultural institutions even in a delicate historical moment such as the one we are experiencing, due to the pandemic. Precisely, during the lockdown, the collaboration between Fondazione Ferragamo, Museo Salvatore Ferragamo and Florida State University was consolidated, with the development of a "long distance" learning program dedicated to American students of the Italian Language and Culture course, curated by Prof. Costanza Menchi and carried out online.
The Museo Salvatore Ferragamo has opened its doors virtually to students unable to come to Italy, inviting them to examine in depth the values expressed by the Sustainable Thinking exhibition even from their homes in the United States.
During the online lessons, the students virtually explored the exhibition and, thanks to the digital material made available for free, they were able to study issues of greatest interest linked to environmental and social sustainability and innovative solutions for the future of fashion. Doubts and curiosities that emerged from this unprecedented way of using the contents were submitted directly to the Director of Museo Salvatore Ferragamo and Fondazione Ferragamo, Stefania Ricci, who answered the students' questions of the .
At the end of the course the students were invited, on a voluntary basis, to record their reflections in a video, to tell and share the lessons learned and their personal point of view on the subject.
